Mediation Support
Mediation Support
Supporting participants before, during and after their mediation
Understanding the mediation process and giving it your best, is not easy.
Most people don't participate in mediation very often. Being prepared with your facts, position, interests and needs is most important. Having a good sense of the process, role you play, potential outcomes and next steps, makes it all a whole lot more do-able. Our mediation support service helps you put your best foot forward before, during and after mediation. If you'd like us to represent you in the mediation, you brief us in full, and we can prepare your written submissions, and be your 'person' during the mediation.
Mediation Support is applicable for :
- Disputes between an employee and their employer
- Disputes between an individual and another organisation
- Disputes between individuals and organisations managed by a third party eg. an industry body
- Disputes between individuals eg. co-owners of a business
Benefits include :
- Reducing the pre-mediation documentation summarisation
- Reducing time spent writing up of your position
- Less emotion and greater objectivity, ie. less stress
HOW DOES IT WORK?
1. Initiating Support
Provide details of the dispute and the parties via our Contact Page. Once we agree to take on the mediation support, further information will be requested. Or just give us a call.
2. Before mediation
Provide a full brief and copies of all relevant documents. Share your position, interests and needs & guidance on what would be an acceptable outcome. Agree role of support person. We can support letter writing and responses ahead of mediation.
3. During mediation
We can attend mediation with you as a silent observer, or in a highly active support capacity, or somewhere in-between. If acting on your behalf, there will be opportunities for check-ins during the mediation.
4. After mediation
Debrief together after the mediation. We can support letter writing and responses after mediation. We can support and coach you through the implementation of the mediation agreement.
